Voici une interview d'America Ferrara
How to Train Your Dragon" was a charming movie, full of magic, about Hiccup’s adventures in a world that fears dragons. America Ferrera lent her voice to the main female character, Astrid, a tough blond girl who showed him how lucky he was. Now the sequel is coming to theaters, and to celebrate this exclusive clip Univision.com is bringing you, we chatted a bit with the famous latina about what to expect this time around from these particular “pets”…
How was it, coming back to play Astrid once again?
I really didn’t have much of a pause after the first movie, since I also voice Astrid in the “How to Train Your Dragon” TV show. In a way I got to stay with the character, and it’s been a fairly consistent journey with Astrid. But it really was a lot of fun to come back and play her with all the subtle changes she’s had in the five years that have passed, as the story shows.
How has Astrid changed since the first movie?
I think now we can see a more vulnerable side to her, because her relationship with Hiccup has come to be more romantic. They’re not as competitive with each other as they were in the first movie. She has become more of an adventurer and looks forward to challenges, but in her relationship with Hiccup she’s more open and emotional.
How do you think this sequel improves on the first movie?
The animation itself is even more beautiful and real-looking. It’s so wonderful to watch! And as far as the story goes, since the characters are growing up, the story is also a bit more mature. This film goes deeper into their world and there’s many more challenges to go through than in the first movie, which didn’t seem possible, but apparently it is!
What kind of challenges does Astrid face in this new adventure?
Hiccup has to go on his own adventure, so Astrid must take on the role of the leader among their fellow dragon trainers. She faces new enemies and meets other characters that will conflict with her life and routine.
What was the most fun about voicing Astrid this time around?
I got to work with Kit Harrington, who plays a new character, Eret Son of Eret. I just recently became a fan of “Game of Thrones,” which he stars in, and I got to film a couple of scenes with him, which was pretty cool.
What kind of dragon would you have?
If there existed a dragon that was a close relative of Golden Retrievers, that’s the one I’d choose… A Golden Retriever dragon!
Anything to say to our latino community about “How to Train Your Dragon 2”?
I love playing Astrid because she is a strong and determined girl who takes control of things. I simply love all the girls and women in this story.
